History Culture Night, an inheritance of a night view: Nagaoka Hanabi (Fireworks) Festival

Nagaoka Fireworks Festival in Niigata prefecture was qualified as an Inheritance of a Night View. Nagaoka festival started as a war damage revival festival, following the air raids that happened on August 1st, 1945. The festival is held from the 1st of August and runs until the 3rd of August each year.
In total, roughly 20,000 fireworks are set off during the two night firework display! Over 1 million people come to this fireworks festival each year!
