Japanese Female Otaku Group: Dempagumi.inc

Dempagumi was formed with 6 girls in Akihabara, Tokyo.  Each member is also a known Otaku and participate in various Otaku events such as: Cosplay, Manga, Anime, Video Games and Uploading dance videos on the famous ‘NicoNico Douga’ (Also known as the Otaku YouTube of Japan).  Before they formed this group, each of the girls admitted to having had hard times and struggled with their relationships at School and at work.

Dempagumi’s music is very energetic, uptempo and the melody frequently changes. This music style, in Japan, is known as “Denpa Song”.  The music genre “Denpa Song” incorporates the ideas of Chaos, Addiction, and the essences of various Anime songs.  Dempagumi’s music often uses repetitive words in their lyrics, such as: “Hai ,Hai, Hai” or “Pare, Pare, Pare!”.  Dempagumi has performed during various Expo events about Japanese pop culture, which are held various countries including parts of Asia, and places like Pari, France. They are going to have a concert at Nippon Budokan on May 6th, 2014.
