Japanese people love their Anime and Manga! So many Ita-bikes, Ita-shas, Ita-Denshas, and more!

As I’m sure you know, Anime is very popular in Japan. In fact the love of Anime and Manga is so strong that it has it’s very own unique sub-culture! In recent years, that Anime culture has been growing and now you can see Anime appearing in more spaces around Japan. You see Anime characters on cars, bikes, trains, buses and pretty much every other vehicle! Anything covered in Anime is called “Ita-” something. The expression “Ita” came from “Itai” which means pain in Japanese. ‘Ita’ is slang which expresses a disgraceful act, or something that is painful to stare at. These vehicles are called: “Ita-sha”(Ita-car), Ita-bike, Ita-bicycle, Ita-Densha(Ita-train), and Ita-bus. There are even more Ita-products, such as: Ita-curtains, Ita-snowboards, Ita-ema(wiki), Ita-In(Ita-stamp) and so many more! It’s Ita-Crazy out there!
